[Softball] Softball Falcons Drop a Pair of Games at No. 25 USAO
Chickasha, Okla. – The Friends University Softball Falcons lost twice at the No. 25-ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers today (Feb. 17) in Chickasha, Okla.
The Falcons' lost the first game 1-0 that featured a no-hitter by USAO starter Emily Cerny.
Cerny struck out nine batters and walked two in her seven innings in the circle.
Hali Walters (SO/Longmont, Colo.) was also brilliant for the Falcons, allowing only one run in six innings.
The only offense Cerny needed, she provided herself by driving in the game's only run with an RBI single in the second that scored Randa Hatter.
Shania Beck had two hits in the opening game win for USAO.
The Droves then won the second game 8-3 behind three hits from Keely Kingsley and a pair of RBIs from Hatter.
The game was scoreless until USAO (4-0) exploded for seven runs in the fourth.
Breanna Vest (JR/Fayettevile, Ark. ) had a two-run single in the fifth and Kylie Fox (JR/Wichita, Kan. ) also had a double for the Falcons (1-5).
The Falcons will face USAO again next weekend on Friday (Feb. 23) at 2 pm in the Evangel Classic.
Friends will also square off with (RV) Williams Baptist College, Lindenwood University-Belleville and MidAmerica Nazarene University at the tourney.
