HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (1-2, 0-0 G-MAC) lost both of their games on day two of the UAH Charger Chill Out.

GM1: The Screaming Eagles started in scoring in the top of the first on a two run double to give them an early 2-0 lead … the Trojans however answered back with one run of their own on a Mary Collins (JR/Collierville, TN) double to left center scoring Danielle Horton (SR/Columbia, TN) to close the gap to 2-1 at the end of the first frame … the game remained scoreless until Southern Indiana hit a solo home run in the fourth to go up 3-1 … TNU tied the game in the sixth as Collins doubled in Ali Birchfield (SO/Trenton, GA) to make the score 3-2 … Caitlyn Hudgins (JR/Springfield, TN) hit a grounder in the infield to score Dallas Richards (JR/Columbia, TN) to tie the game 3-3 … USI scored six runs in the top of the seventh to win the game 9-3
GM2: Mary Collins started the scoring for Trevecca as she drove in Danielle Horton and MaKray Odom (SO/McEwen, TN) on a double down the left field line … Collins later scored on a double from Bailey Alexander (JR/Glasgow, KY) to give Trevecca a 3-0 lead after the top half of the first … the Tritons answered back with four runs of their own highlighted by a three-run home run from Serena Olson to give the Tritons a 4-3 lead after one inning … Missouri – St. Louis scored another four runs in the second to widen their lead to 8-4 at the end of the second inning … the Trojans got back on the board as Alexander singled in Kallie Sohm (SO/Kingston, TN) … Missouri – St. Louis answered back with two runs in the bottom half of the third to make the score 10-4 after three innings … the Trojans were the only team to score in the fourth as Odom singled in Ali Birchfield to make the score 10-5 … In the fifth UMSL scored three runs to give them the win in five innings 13-5

The Trojans first game will be against Black Hills State University (0-4) at 3 PM on Friday, February 16th. On Saturday Feb. 17 The Trojans will play Davenport University (0-0) at 1 PM and Missouri – Science and Technology (2-3) at 3 PM. Trevecca will play their last game of the Invitational at 12 PM opponent is TBD.
