[Softball] Trevecca Softball | Three New Trojans Signed for 2018-2019
TREVECCA SOFTBALL SIGNS THREE IN THE EARLY SIGNING PERIOD
NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball coach Ben Tyree announces the addition of three new student-athletes for the 2018-2019 school year.
In their first three seasons as an official NCAA Division II program, the Trojans have already won multiple regular season and postseason Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships and advanced to and collected wins in two appearances at the NCAA Regional. These three additions only add to the chances of more championships and successful visits to regionals.

Lenna Robinson is a 5-foot-5 multi-tool athlete from Roane County High School and Kingston Springs.
Cali Norrod is a 5-foot-10 pitcher/outfielder from Crossville where she attends Home Life Academy.
Kaylor Chaffin is a 5-foot-6 middle infielder from Goodlettsville and Beech High School.
Coach Tyree said "We are thrilled to have these three players commit and sign to join us next season. Each adds a different element, and we expect they'll come in ready to play, bringing their valuable experience to help us in the even tougher G-MAC."
COMPLETE DETAILS
LENNA ROBINSON
Robinson, coached by Wendy Johnson, is a multi-position player. To describe her as "an athlete" is accurate as she will help the Trojans with her versatility and speed. Additionally, Robinson played for Coach Richie Wood on the summer team, FURY-WOOD. She played with the team at the PGF Futures National Championship when they finished as runner-up. Coach Wood is an alum and former adjunct professor at Trevecca. Last season the Roane County Team Captain hit .465 with 25 stolen bases. Additionally, she served as the captain of the Roane County basketball team.
Off the field, honors include serving as the basketball and football Homecoming Court and voted as the Homecoming Queen. Robinson is a member of the FCA and named a 2017 Wendy's Heisman winner, made the Tennessee Coaches Association All-Academic Team, All-County, and All-Region in Softball.
Coach Tyree says, "We are excited to have Lenna join our team, and we expect her to compete right away for playing time. Getting to see her attend our summer camp helped identify Lenna as someone who can help our team. She wanted the smaller campus feel and a Christian atmosphere and believes she found the best place to meet both of those desires."
Her parents are Erin Robinson Finks and J.W. Robinson III.
CALI NORROD
Norrod carries a 4.0 GPA and played summer ball with current Trojan, Megan Groves for the TN Ballhawks. The Ballhawks are coached by Shannon Groves. In the summer of 2017, Cali played for the TN Firebirds 00, coached by Jad Murphy.
Norrod can play several positions and pitches from the circle. At the plate, she hits left-handed and possesses ability running the bases. Her 2017 TN Firebirds 00 finished in the top 10 at the ASA Nationals.
Coach Tyree said, "We are proud to add Cali to next seasons team. She's attended our Trevecca camps, which helped her develop a connection to our team. Cali will arrive ready to compete for playing time and helps us improve our chances of making more runs in the postseason. Cali shows a strong desire to compete and attending a Christian school was a significant factor in her decision to join us."
Her parents are Terri and Lonnie Norrod.
KAYLOR CHAFFIN
Chaffin, currently coached by Brian Drake, was coached by Monica Braswell and Alan Banks. Chaffin made the All-District and All-Sumner County team after hitting .368. She posted an outstanding GPA of 4.0 at Beech.
Coach Tyree said, "We are excited to have someone like Kaylor joining us next season. Her coaches tell me she is one of the hardest workers on the team and loves to compete. She joined us at the Trevecca Elite Camp and showed what she can do in addition to interacting with other campers. Already a great student, she will continue our tradition of great athletes and scholars.
Chaffin played travel ball with TN Elite, coached by Byron Page. Previously she played for Legacy SOS, coached by Keith Byrd. Her hitting coach is Alan Banks, father of our Kat Banks who assisted Trevecca last year. Chaffin played travel ball with current Trojan Brooke Eakes.
Her parents are Kyndra and Eric Chaffin.
