[Softball] RedStorm finishes No. 20 in final coaches' poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Rio Grande softball team finished 20th in the final NAIA coaches' poll of the 2017 season, released Wednesday night by the national office.
The RedStorm, who dropped three positions from the final regular season coaches' poll, collected 210 points in the balloting by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
Second-year head coach Chris Hammond's squad finished 47-10 overall - setting a single-season school record for victories - after going 2-2 in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament and getting within one win of a trip to the NAIA World Series.
