Cal alums Ron and Stephanie Rivera donate $500,000 to upgrade Bears’ softball facilities

Ron Rivera and his wife, Stephanie, are donating $500,000 to the university’s softball renovations, the school announced Thursday. An anonymous donor offered to match up to $500,000 for the project, which will be named the Rivera Family Cal Softball Field and will be upgraded to meet field and facility standards allowing Berkeley to host NCAA postseason games.
