CIF delays start of all high school sports; football will end in April

California’s high school sports calendar has been altered again in the wake of the coronavirus. Most notably, football — for decades a staple of fall Fridays and Saturdays — won’t start until the beginning of winter and won’t finish until mid-April. Basketball will finish in mid-June with baseball, softball and track and field expected to bring the athletic year to an end by June 26.
