Stile kept the Scotties' season alive with a tying homer in the bottom of the eighth and Ana Gold had the winning single in the bottom of the 20th in a memorable 2-1 victory over Sayville, the longest game in state championships history.
But then Ballston Spa had to get ready to play for the title against Williamsville East just two hours later.
Though Kersch gutted her way through another six innings, the Scotties came up short with a 3-0 loss in the final.
