[Softball] Point Splits Two with Middle Georgia State; Wins Game One, 2-0

WEST POINT, Ga. – Senior Ryan Simpson (Valley, AL) pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out seven batters as Point University softball (12-10) defeated Middle Georgia State University (13-7) in game one of a March 14 non-conference doubleheader, and MGSU scored three runs on four hits in the top of the sixth inning and beat Point, 3-1, in the nightcap.  Coached by Jennifer Tyler (Eighth season), Point travels to Montreat College (N.C.) for a Saturday, March 16 Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader at 2 p.m.
