After emerging from a drama-filled Class AA state softball semifinal Saturday morning on an uplifting note, the Ballston Spa softball team looked to execute a successful afternoon stint in the championship game against Victor. The Blue Devils stuck a fork in those plans.

Victor threatened in every inning except the first, took the lead in the fifth and broke things open when sophomore Chloe Whittier clubbed a grand slam to center in the sixth as the Blue Devils produced a 7-1 title victory over the Scotties at Moreau Recreational Park.
