The Green Bay linebacker was pitching in a charity softball game when his nose was broken by a line drive Saturday. Teammate Lucas Patrick, an offensive lineman, was the hitter. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Matthews will have surgery on his nose this week. McCarthy said he was not going to overreact by making such games off limits to his players. He said participation in the Green & Gold Charity softball game gives them a chance to be involved with the community. Matthews posted on Twitter that he was thankful the injury wasn’t more serious.
