Danielle Williams pitches Amador Valley to title, hits game-winning homer

Senior Danielle Williams, a softball pitcher for Amador Valley-Pleasanton, is a sweetheart of a kid, says her coach Teresa Borchard. Kind. Funny. Composed. But following a lopsided loss to archrival Foothill-Pleasanton in the East Bay Athletic League playoffs, Williams’ demeanor changed.

“She was furious,” Borchard said.

The Northwestern-bound standout took out her fury on North Coast Section playoff opponents the past two weeks, finishing with a 2-0 Division 1 title win over the same Falcons on Saturday at Diablo Valley College.
