Natural Selection Ski Reveals Stacked Wildcard Roster Including Tanner Hall
The five wildcard invitations for one of skiing’s most anticipated competitions, Natural Selection, have arrived, including Olympians, all-around legends, and Freeride World Tour stars.
The selection of skiers, which was picked by Natural Selection’s star-studded ski advisory council (Sammy Carlson and Michelle Parker are members, to name a few), will join qualified athletes at the finals competition in Valdez, Alaska.
Here are the newly announced wildcards you can look forward to watching during the big show, which premieres on Red Bull TV on April 14.

Natural Selection Ski Wildcards, 2026
- Tanner Hall: The man shouldn’t need an introduction. An unrelenting force in freeskiing for decades, Tanner Hall’s a linchpin—and founder—of the Armada skis squad. Where some freeskiers whose careers took off in the 2000s have taken on other ventures, Hall’s still here and skiing as hard as ever. Looking for proof? Check out his spot in Armada’s latest movie, Ornada.
- Astrid Cheylus: After joining the circuit in 2024, Astrid Cheylus quickly made a name for herself on the Freeride World Tour, throwing flips amid committing big mountain lines. She is, like other skiers her age, representative of freeride skiing’s next generation. She has the technique. She also has tricks.
- Tatum Monod: Given the pedigree of the team involved with Natural Selection, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Tatum Monod, who wielded a microphone at last winter’s event, also knows what she’s doing on skis. Take a trip down memory lane with this segment of hers.
- Karl Fostvedt: When news broke that Travis Rice, along with the help of a crew of skiers, was bringing Natural Selection to a new sport, one name seemed to be missing: Karl Fostvedt. Across his film appearances and competition appearances, he’s solidified himself as the kind of all-around weapon Natural Selection celebrates, equally comfortable on a steep spine as he is in the air. Now, he’ll be able to show the judges what he can do.
- Finn Bilous: Finn Bilous has range. In 2018 and 2022, he went to the Winter Olympics as a slopestyle athlete. Then, in 2024, he laced a third-place Freeride World Tour run on the imposing Bec des Rosses.
