Armada Skis Announces Launch of Snowboard Brand

0 6

Prolific ski brand, Armada, has thrown its hat into snowboarding's proverbial ring.

Armada announced on November 3, 2025, that starting in the Fall of 2026, it will officially launch a snowboard category, complete with a nine-board lineup. Snowboard boots and bindings will enter the mix in 2027.

It's clear by the initial marketing and information that Armada Snowboards won't be just another ski brand who decided to make product for single-plankers. Already, they've launched their own website, independent from Armada Skis, and the brand has been armed with some of the best in snowboarding to run it.

The in-house staff at Armada Snowboards is headed up Tanner McCarty as the Brand Director. Paul Maravetz, who previously founded Rome Snowboards and Cabin Mountain Tools, has been brought on as the VP of Product.

Tom "T Bird" Monterosso joins as the marketing manager, following his previous experience as an athlete manager, photographer, and producer for Natural Selection Tour, and as the staff photographer for Ride Snowboards. Tom Kingsnorth also heads up the European Marketing team.

Josh Manoles, who has worked across the snowboard industry with brands like Union Binding Co. and others, joins the brand as the Senior Graphic Designer. Trevor Brady, who previously worked with Arbor Snowboards, is the new Global Sales Manager for the brand. Ryan Harris, Maguire Shea, and Karl Wurm make up the product sector of the brand in snowboards, bindings, and boots, respectively. Team riders for Armada Snowboards will be announced in the coming weeks.

The boards in question, shot, of course, with a fish eye.

According to the brand's press release, efforts will be focused largely in product development to build a line of functionally designed and expertly manufactured boards for 2026. The line that will be released for the 2026/27 season was tested rigorously by their in-house team and athletes last winter under the mantra, "If it didn't pass the team, it didn't make the line." Much like the sister ski brand, which was famously founded by a group of skiers that included JP Auclair and Tanner Hall, Armada Snowboards will be largely athlete-driven.

"There’s an honesty at this brand that’s refreshing. You can write down that you’re ‘team-driven’ or you can have your team walk through the office doors every day, snow still stuck to their pants, bugging the product teams about how something flexes. Armada has the latter. Their commitment to quality product via strong team culture is a dreamy little ethos to build a snowboard brand from," said Brand Director, Tanner McCarty in a press release.

Armada follows in the footsteps of several ski brands that have gone on to introduce a line of snowboards, to varying degrees of success and acceptance by the snowboard community.

To that sentiment however, there have also been a handful of brands intended for both sports, that have found success in both categories such as Season Eqpt., which was started as a partnership between skier Eric Pollard and snowboarder Austin Smith.

Product aside (we are a ski magazine after all), it appears Armada Snowboards has set themselves up very well to both create and sell a high-quality product line and appeal to the core by bringing in a team of heavy-hitting industry vets to set the path for their snowboard brand.

We'll let our single-planker friends decide if they make the cut as a snowboard brand, but as fans of Armada Skis already, we'd be surprised if they didn't hit the nail on the head.
