Ellicottville Depot announces closure at end of ski season

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- After 46 years in business, The Ellicottville Depot will be closing its doors for the final time at the end of the 2025 ski season, per an announcement from the restaurant on social media.
The post thanked the restaurant's staff over the past several decades, its founders Carl Matthews and Mike Nickolson, and its patrons.
"Thank you to the skiers, families, and locals that helped make the Depot a community staple, and a haven after a cold day on the hill," the post said. "Thank you to the strangers that stopped in and became long time friends, who always kept creating new memories with us."
The post closed with a quote from owner Moose Brown:
"It was good to see you and good to be seen."
