Ski resort prepares to hire hundreds of workers for snow season

A major ski resort in Running Springs is hiring hundreds of workers to cover the snow season and will host the first of three recruitment events Saturday, Oct. 26, according to a statement.

Snow Valley Ski Resort will open its doors to winter job candidates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additional hiring days are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The ski resort is about 20 miles north of the city of San Bernardino. According to the resort, the winter positions include indoor and outdoor work from food service to ski lift operations. No experience is required, and many jobs include training.

Applications will be accepted from candidates as young as 14.

The jobs come with ski perks, too. Seasonal employees will have access to skiing, snowboarding and sledding privileges along with free lessons, employee parties, discounted rental equipment, discounts in the retail sport shop and discounts on food and beverage. Some discounts also apply to family members of workers.
