Armenian Skiing Championship 2019: Mikayel Mikayelyan and Katya Galstyan named absolute champions
Mikayel Mikayelyan and Katya Galstyan won the absolute champion’s title in Armenia’s 2019 Skiing Championship in Ashotsk, Shirak region.
The competitions featured a total of 31 male and female participants, of whom 24 were from the second largest city of Gyumri, three from Ashotsk and Vanadzor (Lori region) and one from Yerevan, the National Olympic Committee’s website reports.
Galstyan won gold after performances in free and classical styles (5km) and 1.5km women’s running race.
Mikayelyan was unequaled in the same competitions for males (10km) and the 1.5km running race.
Prizes were awarded also to junior participants from the Gyumri Children and Youth Sport School.
The World Junior Championship is set to start in Finland on January 15. The championship for adult sportsmen will open in Austria on February 23.
