Norwegian Olympic champion Klaebo to skip cross-country freestyle
Pyeongchang, South Korea (dpa) - Norwegian cross-country skier Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo is to skip Friday‘s 15-kilometre freestyle race at the Pyeongchang Games, just three days after becoming Olympic champion in the sprint. The 21-year-old Klaebo, who tops the standings in the overall World Cup tour, no longer appears on the start list for the race published by the governing FIS.However, the freestyle race does not belong to Klaebo‘s strongest disciplines and he appears to be saving his energy for other events.Klaebo is still likely to compete in the team sprint, relay and 50-kilometre individual race on the penultimate day of the Games.
