Nilsson gives Sweden second cross-country gold at Olympics
Pyeongchang, South Korea (dpa) - Sweden made it two golds out of two in women‘s Olympic cross-country skiing on Tuesday when Stina Nilsson won the sprint in convincing fashion.Nilsson led from the start and was never troubled en route to her first major title after four silvers and a bronze at past major events, clocking 3 minutes 3.84 seconds in the classic style race over 1.2 kilometres.Reigning world champion Maiken Caspersen Falla of Norway took silver as she failed to become the first sprinter to get back-to-back Olympic golds. Bronze went to Olympic Athlete from Russia Yuliya Belorukova.Nilsson‘s gold came after compatriot Charlotte Kalla had won the first women‘s race, the skiathlon, on Saturday.
