Biathlete Roesch delighted about Olympic nomination for Belgium
Leipzig, Germany (dpa) - Biathlete Frank Roesch will return to the Olympics for Belgium next month in Pyeongchang, 12 years after winning a relay gold for Germany.Roesch, 34, expressed his delight on Facebook Saturday of making the Olympic team for his adopted country along with team-mate Florent Claude and cross-country skier Thierry Langer."Great day for Team Belgium. Now we are officially nominated for the Olympic Games! Thanks to everyone who supported us on our journey!" Roesch said.Roesch won relay gold 2006 in Turin but missed the next two Games, not picked by the Germans in 2010 and not yet in possession of a Belgian passport in 2014.The veteran has invested a lot of personal income into his Olympic dream and also raised 24,000 euros (29,400 dollars) via a crowdfunding platform to make it to the Februaty 9-25 Games in South Korea.
