Day's Like These Premiere
Day's Like These is only the second European skate movie ever.
Needless to say we were stoked to host the Irish Premiere last Saturday in Wreckless Indoor Skatepark.
We kicked off the evening at 6pm with some mulled wine, mince pies and a ladies only session. After a bout an hour of having the park to ourselves we figured it would be nice to get some lovely greasy chipper food and get ourselves ready to watch the film.
This took a while so at about 8pm we all sat down in the mini ramp to finally watch the movie. We had a nice mix of guys and gals by then and I must say I'm touched by how many lads turned out to watch the movie...the support for the girls scene here is growing and we could't be more happy or thankful for that.
The film itself is awesome. It starts off with our own native skater Sabine...she has a run in with a rail and let's just say there was a lot of cringing going on in the seats. (side note: Sabine's coccyx is on the mend and she's back on her board - yay! )
The movie has parts from skaters all over Europe including Camilla Mullins, Helena Long, Dora Horvath and Julia Bruckler. It has an awesome friends section, an entire sequence dedicated to ramp riders and the most cringe inducing bails section.
After the movie we cleared the mini ramp, opened the park to boys and skated for the rest of the night. The highlight of the night other than the film of course was Chloe managing to put together her first ever line!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jenna for putting the film together and sending the movie over so we could have the premiere, Grant and all the lads in Wreckless for letting us use the park and all the hard work they put into the set up of the screen and all the other bits that go with that as well as the mulled wine reception! I also want to say thank you to the ladies and gents that showed up to watch the movie and shred the night away - the support is much appreciated.
