SKATEBOARDING legend Tony Hawk has contributed his own BLOOD to be infused in boards that fans can buy for just £365.

The collaboration with canned-water company Liquid Death will see 100 boards produced in, as expected, a sharp red colour.

Hawk, 52, is a legend of the sport which has recently gained additional popularity with its introduction to the Tokyo Olympics.

Since his retirement in 2003, the American has become more known for lending his name to a popular video game series and occasionally popping up to pull off amazing age-defying tricks.

But he has now linked up with Liquid Death to produce the bizarre £365 boards.

A video posted online shows Hawk having his blood taken for it to be mixed with the boards’ paint.

In a post to his seven million fans on Instagram, Hawk revealed he got the idea from a comic produced by the band Kiss in 1977.

The Marvel creation was ‘printed in real Kiss blood’ and the skater described it as his ‘inspiration’ as a child of the ’70s.

Hawk said: “I am deeply thankful to have a connection with my fans, and I appreciate how Liquid Death connects with theirs.

“This collaboration is taking those connections to a new level, as I have literally put my blood (and soul?) into these decks.

“And I take pride in knowing that organizations fighting plastic pollution and creating skate parks worldwide will be supported through our efforts.”

Each board will come with a certificate of authenticity – to prove that it is… really Hawk’s blood – and a percentage of the proceeds will go to the icon’s skatepark and environmental charities.

He added: “Always read the fine print!

“Thanks Liquid Death for this rare opportunity but please be careful with my life force. Looking forward to our future ‘collaborations’ as long as they don’t involve replicants.”
