Man arrested in connection to St. Martinville fatal shooting
ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A shooting incident in St. Martin Parish has resulted in the death of one man and the arrest of another.
Delian Mallery, 19, of St. Martinville has been charged with second-degree murder.
On Sunday, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the 1900 block of Cypress Island Highway in St. Martinville, regarding a man who had been shot.
When officials arrived, they located a deceased male with a gunshot wound to the head lying in the living room of the residence. Officials said the initial investigation revealed that Mallery, shot the victim for unknown reasons. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
A warrant for Mallery's arrest was obtained, and he was sent to a St. Martin Parish jail. He is currently being held without bond.
