Mechanicville girls' basketball turns tables on Hoosic Valley

Jada Brown and Charli Goverski seemingly were everywhere on the court, at least as far as the Hoosic Valley girls' basketball team was concerned Friday night. The Mechanicville tandem seized control of the Wasaren League contest in the second quarter via their relentless activity level.
The Red Raiders' defensive prowess, coupled with poor shooting by Hoosic Valley and senior forward Alex Rifenburg being saddled with foul trouble, proved too much for the visitors to overcome as Mechanicville avenged an earlier loss against the Indians with a 46-33 victory.
"The first time we played them, they are big and they threw the ball over the top of our press," Mechanicville coach Blain Goverski said.
