Pedro Munhoz happy to be part of stacked UFC bantamweight division with 'a bunch of killers'
HOUSTON – Pedro Munhoz knows he’s in deep waters fighting at bantamweight.
The UFC veteran is well aware that his weight class has turned into arguably the most talented and competitive division today in MMA. And Munhoz (19-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) is proud and happy to contribute to the division with his talent.
“The bantamweight division right now, I think it’s one of the hottest spots to be in the UFC,” Munhoz told MMA Junkie at Wednesday’s UFC 265 media day. “We see big names. We see big fights. The top 10 of the division itself is just a bunch of killers and for me, it makes me happy to be one of them.”
Munhoz is set to take on former UFC and WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC 265 at Toyota Center. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN 2 and ESPN+.
