2020 White Sox schedule release

0 13

Tough start, but overall a soft schedule thanks to the Centrals

The first couple of series of the season will be a little rough for the White Sox — hosting the 2019 division champion Twins and then playing at Cleveland, with eight of their first 11 games on the road. But overall (hat-tip to Kansas City and Detroit, as well as the NLC patsies), it’s smooth sailing.

The big highlights of the season come at the one-month mark, when the Pale Hose head across town to Wrigley for three, including Friday and Saturday night games. And the season concludes with a three-game set hosting the Ivy Bumblers.

The entire final two weeks of the season will have a playoff atmosphere, with FOUR games against Minny starting in the middle of September, then on to a rough Ohio roadie against the Reds (three games) and Cleveland (four). The reward? Three against the Cubs, who by that time will be playing for pride or some sort of 60-game contract incentive.

But, thanks to the relative weakness of several teams in the AL and NL Central (per 2019 records, at least), the White Sox have the fourth-easiest schedule in baseball. However, the bad news is that the 1-2 on that list are the Twins (easiest in baseball) and Cleveland (second-easiest).
