Jeanne Socrates gets award for ‘active agers’

Round the world sailor Jeanne Socrates has been voted one of four ‘brave Britons’ in a nationwide awards ceremony held by Amplifon.

Jeanne, 78, from Lymington, won the Active Agers category for “an individual aged 60 or over whose attitude and approach to ageing is an inspiration to us all”.

Captain Tom Moore and footballer Marcus Rashford were among the other winners in the Amplifon Brave Briton Awards.
