South Africa falls to seventh place in World Rugby rankings

JOHANNESBURG – The repercussions of South Africa’s loss to Argentina in the Rugby Championships were swift, as the Springboks have dropped one place to seventh in the world rankings released on Monday.

South Africa drop below Scotland as a result of losing 1.48 rating points, equalling their lowest position since the rankings were introduced in October 2003.

South Africa have 81.84 ranking points. 

At the summit, New Zealand remain unchallenged with 94.52 ranking points. Ireland are second with 90.12.

Wales are in third position with 85.94 ranking points.
