Masters Win at Stourport

0

Royal Chester crews travelled to Worcestershire to race at Stourport Regatta on the river Severn. The course was over 1100 metres and the conditions were perfect for fast racing.

The mens masters squad cleaned up, winning in Masters ‘D’ coxed fours with John Boothman, Michal Palamarczuk, John Hinnigan, Michael Stephens and cox Jo Hinnigan, whilst the Masters ‘G’ double scull of Bonner Davies and Bob Ackerley prevailed in a hard final against stubborn opposition from the host club.

New member to Royal Chester, Guillermo Sanchez Gonzalez, was a convincing winner in a large field of novice single scullers. The Masters women’s ‘D’ four had no opposition in their status so they entered the Senior Intermediate 3 event where they lost narrowly to a crew 20 years their junior.
