The Bank Holiday weekend was one to celebrate for Royal Chester Rowing Club as they cleaned up at the 2 day Ross Regatta on the river Wye in Herefordshire with 13 wins. Royals Juniors made a strong start for the club on Sunday by winning the boys J14 double and J16 girls as well as the girls J14 quad sculls. Later in the day the men’s and women’s Masters squads also took the trophies in the mixed and women’s 8s.

Success was continued on Monday with the Masters men winning the Class E eights and F coxed four events and the Senior men with 3 wins in the Intermediate 3 category in coxed fours, double sculls and pairs. Some of the juniors also competed in the Senior events on Monday with wins in the women’s Intermediate 2 double and the Novice coxed 4 and quad sculls events.

“It was a fantastic weekend for the Club” commented Mike Palamarczuk, Royals Captain as he surveyed the haul of winners’ tankards at the end of the campaign “the commitment of the crews and the coaches at all age levels are clearly demonstrated by our performance at Ross, with even more wins than we achieved in 2012”
