RegattaCentral Partners with Head of The Charles and World Masters Rowing
By Kieran Harrington
RegattaCentral will continue to expand and develop with new and continuing partnerships with the Head of the Charles Regatta and World Rowing.
A world famous event that has some of the most beautiful views and largest gathering of spectators, the Head of the Charles Regatta relies on the registrar and technology capabilities that RegattaCentral provides to run their race smoothly. This partnership, beginning in 2012 has been renewed until 2030. Having the background and history of partnership will allow Regatta Central to continue refining their products to increase accessibility for athletes and spectators while make the events operation side of regatta operation run more smoothly. One example being refining their mobile app to allow smoother line-up changes. A memorable weekend for thousands of participants and spectators, Regatta Central’s registration and results services will continue to make the experience more enjoyable and fluid for all.
“We are rowers”, said Steve Lopez, Founder of RegattaCentral, “and look to engage and provide an experience that makes it easier for coaches, parents and spectators to receive information on their athlete.”
Working not only for efficiency but developing community, RegattaCentral has continued their collaboration with World Rowing through the World Rowing Master’s Portal. This software looks to connect Masters athletes from around the world, providing schedules of Masters races and personal online profiles. Once a member creates a profile they are then able to share their racing history and connect with other athletes. The portal allows athletes to sign up for races as an “open racer” selecting experience level, preferred boat class and even seat in the boat.
Lopez explained that RegattaCentral’s main objective in partnering with World Rowing is to help the organization connect with and engage the community it aims to reach. Those that already use this portal can look forward to more opportunities to meet and race against other master rowers, connecting with other passionate members of the sport.
