Alumna Clare Briegal Awarded MBE in King’s New Year Honours List
The Club wishes to extend its warmest congratulations to alumna Clare Briegal (Murray Edwards) who was awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours List for her services to sport.
Briegal learned to row at university and raced for Blondie in the 1984 Women’s Reserve Race. She currently serves as Chair of Table Tennis England, Deputy Chair of British Rowing, and Chair of Sport Liverpool and was previously the CEO of World Netball and an Executive Board member of ARISF (Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations). Briegal was also the first female captain of Northwich Rowing Club.
Briegal received her MBA from Manchester Business School, achieved an MA in natural sciences whilst at Cambridge, and an MA in biochemistry from Bryn Mawr College in the United States.
