Carrow Cup 2025

Saturday 6th December

A great day enjoyed by all that took part

  • In Div 1 we had a coxed 4 with Tom taking part for the first time, with Trevor, Elliott, Stuart and Frances coxing. David and Clive were out in their double too.
  • In Div 2 we had 2 mixed quads and congratulations go to Stuart, Fran, Sam (again, Sam’s first Carrow Cup race) and Elliott who stormed to our only win of the day, beating the other Yare quad and 4 NRC quads too.
  • In the Traditional Boats race, Teal with Amanda C, Dave Seaman and Bryan came a very respectable 4th out of 10.
  • In Div 3, we had three mixed quads up against a very strong NRC quad. Sadly the NRC quad won, but in the race of our 3 boats Mark, Shelagh, Helen R and Rich took the honours.
  • A lightweight men’s quad also took Grebe out for it’s first race since we bought it and had a good race against some classically strong NRC quads.
  • As ever, back at the club, the alcoholic and non-alcoholic mulled wine flowed, along with lots of food. And all of this surrounded by decorations in the clubhouse.
  • A massive thank you to Andrea and Sam for arranging all of the food and drink, and even bigger thanks to Sam who stayed on after her race to help clear up, clean blades and generally help everyone.
