CUBC Impress at British Selection Trials
The Senior and U23 Selection Trials for Team GB took place in Boston, Lincolnshire on 1-2 November 2025, drawing some of the country’s top rowing talent. Cambridge University Boat Club fielded a squad of six rowers and two coxswains, delivering a weekend of impressive performances.
On the Ergo:
Saturday’s 2km test set the tone for the event. Simon Nunayon produced a standout result, finishing 3rd overall, while several other athletes achieved personal bests. Ellie Sillar also shone, claiming 6th in the U23 category with a significant PB.
On the Water:
Sunday’s racing brought further success. In the men’s pairs, Felix Rawlinson and Luke Beever secured 3rd place, closely followed by Pat Wild and Joe Travis in 4th. Simon Nunayon competed in the single scull, finishing 33rd overall. Meanwhile, Ellie Sillar continued her strong form, winning 1st in U21 singles and placing 7th among U23s.
The squad was supported throughout the weekend by coxing trialists Matt Moran and Freya Jenkinson.
These results underline the strength and depth of the Cambridge squad as attention now turns to the next major milestone: Trial VIIIs.
