CUBC Races at Henley Women’s Regatta 2025; alumna Imogen Grant wins George Innes Cup

Cambridge athletes put in a solid showing at Henley Women’s Regatta 2025, highlighted by a commanding victory from alumna Imogen Grant.

Parkside Trophy

After winning silver in the Lightweight Women’s Pair at Met Regatta, Madeline Jackson (St Edmund’s) and Freya Clarkson (Emmanuel) teamed up in the Championship Lightweight Pair.

Jackson and Clarkson recorded a time of 06:31.16 in the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Newcastle University — the eventual winners. Notably, the Newcastle boat was named after CUBC rower Tom Ford.

Godfrey Trophy

Claire Cooper (Sidney Sussex) returned to the Lightweight Championship Single for a second consecutive year, clocking 06:57.98 in the semi-finals but ultimately being edged out by UCL.

George Innes Cup

After an excellent row, Polly Shorrock (Trinity) sadly missed out on qualifying in the Championship Single by 0.7 seconds.

Racing as Upper Thames (but in her CUW Henley),  alumna Imogen Grant went on to win the event ‘Easily’ against Leander Club with a time of 06:36.72.
