Clyde Sprints 2025 Race Report
Last weekend Clydesdale took to home water for Clyde Sprints 2025, a fast knockout event hosted by Clyde ARC at The West Boathouse.
With races help over a short, 250m course, Clyde Sprints rewards quick starts and sheer determination and Clydesdale delivered! Racing across many different categories, our athletes showed impressive form and teamwork. With 22 entries, we brought home 8 event wins and plenty of close fought finishes in front of the boathouse.
Women’s Events
It was a day of double success for Robyn Patrick and Lauren Murray, who took home the win in the W 2x before combining with Lucy Ashton and Elle Sutherland to take 1st place in the W 4x later in the day.
Not done yet, Robyn Patrick also raced through the draw in the W 1x, sealing her third medal of the day in a commanding fashion.
Men’s Events
It was a standout day for Seamus Keating, who collected an impressive 3 wins. He took the victory in the O 2x with Thomas Lowrie, the O Mas 2x alongside Les Johnston, and added a solo win in the O Mas 1x – a clean sweep!
In the O 1x, Ryan Finnigan charged through the knockout rounds to claim the win, showing speed and consistency from the first race to the last.
The O Mas 4+ of Les Johnston, Ken Diamond, Andrew Jones and Douglas MacFarlane, coxed by Rebecca Toal, also secured a dominant victory – an impressive showing of power from our Veteran team.
Summary of Entries
While the day belonged to the winners, the whole club contributed to an electric atmosphere – from those racing their first side-by-side sprints, to those cheering from the bank.

Last weekend was a great reminder of what makes local events like Clyde Sprints so special: community, competition and club spirit. A big thank you to Clyde ARC for organising a fantastic event and for continuing to be great neighbours in the West Boathouse.
