The 2025 Lightweight Boat Race sees two wins, two records for Cambridge

0 8

On a gloriously sunny day, the sun shone over Cambridge for The 2025 Lightweight Boat Races.

For the Women, Oxford won the coin toss and chose Surrey. For the Men, Cambridge won the toss and chose Surrey.

The Women’s Race was a fiercely-contested battle, with exceptional starts from both crews. Cambridge’s base rhythm proved invaluable as they steadily gained ground, finishing with a 3 length victory and setting a new course record in a time of 19:08, extending their streak to an extraordinary six wins in a row. The Men’s Race saw aggressive positioning from Cambridge who were repeatedly warned before rowing away at the midpoint, ultimately finishing with a 4 1/2 length lead in a time of 17:35 and also setting a new course record, making it four consecutive wins for the Cambridge Men.

It was also a great day of racing for our Veterans. Congratulations to the Oxford Women and the Cambridge Men.
