CUBC at British Selection Trials

0 0

Senior and U23 Selection Trials for Team GB took place in Boston, Lincolnshire from 9-10 November 2024.

Cambridge University entered a formidable team of 11 rowers at the GB November trials. Two additional men were present to facilitate the team’s racing. The 2k tests on Saturday produced a series of competitive results, with several athletes achieving personal bests.

On Sunday, the focus shifted to the water. George Bourne stole the show with a dominant victory in the single scull. The women, competing in singles to vie for sweep boat spots, delivered solid performances, positioning themselves well for future selection. Douwe de Graaf also impressed, finishing 13th in the single scull.
The men’s pairs proved formidable, claiming the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 29th positions. Despite two women and one man being absent due to medical exemptions, we have every reason to be optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming season, beyond the Boat Race.
