For CUBC’s crews, racing at the FISU International Universities’ Sveti Duje Regatta in Split has become an annual tradition and a highlight of the post-race season.

The Club has maintained tight links with the regatta, and double Blue Matthew Holland has become the UK liaison for the regatta. Departing on Friday for the opening ceremony at the Galerija Meštrovic, CUBC’s Blue Boats raced crews from the UK and Europe for the title.

The Men’s race was a dominant performance from CUBC, winning by over 2 seconds from EUSA Champioons Tartu University, who were themselves 2 and a half seconds ahead of Imperial College, with OUBC in 4th.

The Women’s race was a 2 horse one, with OUBC and CUBC clearing out to a significant lead, but OUBC overturned the Boat Races result and beat CUBC by 4 seconds, with the University of Zagreb 13 seconds behind.

With honours even after day 1, CUBC was able to establish an overall win against Oxford with victory in the Legends Race, held in Split Harbour.

We thank our hosts again, and look forward avidly to Split 2025.
