#5 Yale Women’s Rowing Defeats #8 Syracuse by a Mere .7 seconds

In perhaps the closest race of the day, the #5 Yale women defeated #8 Syracuse in the varsity eight race by a mere 7/10ths of a second in Saratoga Springs, retaining the Cayuga Cup. Yale won four of five races throughout the day, also defeating both the Orange and Cornell in the 2V8, 2V4, and 3V8, while Syracuse came away with the win in the V4 by two seconds.

 
“Syracuse was exactly what we expected them to be,” Will Porter, the Bulldogs head coach, said to Yale Athletics. “We were lucky to get out of there with the win. The second varsity rowed a great race and grew up on the race course a bit today, while the four lost a close one. Our 2V4 and 3V were dominant. Overall, it was a good day for YWC.”
