Safety Alert from Scottish Rowing

0 16

Scottish Rowing released a safety alert warning of the risks of sepsis following an incident of sepsis that occurred from an infected blister caused by rowing.

The full alert can be found here, Scottish Rowing has some guidance on Water Borne Infections and Diseases (section 8.4) here, and NHS guidance on how to manage blisters can be found here. Unless you have a symptom of sepsis (where you should go to A&E), a pharmacist can help with questions regarding managing blisters.

You can find more information about sepsis from the UK Sepsis Trust, they produced a graphic on how to recognise sepsis in children and adults (below), and the next steps to take if you suspect you or someone else may have sepsis.

The post Safety Alert from Scottish Rowing first appeared on Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club.
