Scullers Head of the River Race

0 11

Three Sudbury scullers competed at the Scullers Head of the River Race on the Thames. The course was 6.4 km from Mortlake to Putney – the Championship course which the boat race crews race on. Overall good conditions but the Thames is very changeable and parts of the course saw a strong head wind. There was some questionable steering  and some capsize incidents along the challenging course and 357 boats competed in the race in various age categories.

The Sudbury scullers all raced well steering near perfect courses.

Steve Zimmerman raced in the masters-C category finishing 50th overall in a time of 23.22, fifth in his age category.

Harry Moule raced in the junior 17 age category finishing 82nd overall in a time of 23:45, fourth in his age category.

Amelia Moule competed in the under 23 lightweight category finishing 188th overall in a time of 25:21, third in her category and 22nd female overall.

An excellent effort all round.
