Coles Community Rowing Hero

0 2

Rowing Australia Official Partner, Coles, is proud to announce an initiative for the Australian rowing community that seeks to recognise the incredible contributions our volunteers make to the sport of rowing.

We all know that without the volunteers in clubs, schools and at our events, our sport would not run as seamlessly as it does.

Coles acknowledges this and wants to celebrate the great work that so many in our community do. In line with this, Coles is generously providing eight people from our volunteer rowing community a $200 gift card, one for each State and Territory (including Northern Territory). An additional four volunteers from each State and Territory will each receive a $25 Coles gift card.

Each month a different state will be represented, keep an eye on not only the Rowing Australia social media, but also your Member Association’s channels to see when your State or Territory’s volunteers are being recognised!

These eight winners (one from each State and Territory) will also be a part of an exclusive online cooking demonstration with a Celebrity Coles Chef, as well as one of four Rowing Australia Coles Ambassadors, such as Georgie Rowe or Simon Keenan, in the second half of 2021.

In addition to this, these eight lucky volunteers will become part of the longlist of finalists for the Coles Community Rowing Hero Award, which will be recognised at the 2021 Hancock Prospecting Rower of the Year Awards to be held in November next year.

This longlist of eight, will then be shortened by our Awards Panel to four volunteers who will be in the running for the 2021 Coles Community Rowing Hero of the Year. These four volunteers will be recognised at the event but will also receive an invitation to attend the awards night.

The winner of the Coles Community Rowing Hero of the Year not only walks away with a glittering trophy, but will also receive a $1000 Coles gift card, while the three lucky runners-up will each receive an additional $250 gift card.

We strongly encourage all those in our community to nominate a volunteer who has made an impact int your rowing life and get them recognised as a Coles Community Rowing Hero.

To ensure an entry is valid the following criteria must be met:

  • Tell us in 25 words or less who your community hero is and why they are a hero.
  • Add in a photo of your nominee with your entry.
  • This person must be a volunteer and not a paid employee.
  • The following hashtags to be used
    • #ColesCommunityRowingHero
  • The following accounts to be tagged:
    • @RowingAustralia
    • @Your state association (eg @actrowing, @rowingnsw)
