The Boat Race Company appoints Finance Director and Event Manager

Joelie Chisholm and Chris Price join the Boat Race Company

A Chartered Accountant, Joelie Chisholm will be responsible for Finance and Company Secretarial tasks. She replaces Fergus Murison who has decided to retire from the Boat Race Company to focus on Great Marlow Boat Club.   Joelie recently relocated to the UK from Australia, where she held several senior finance roles in media and advertising since 2005.  More recently, she focused on sports management and was successively Finance Director of Rowing Australia, the Chief Executive of Australian Taekwondo, and Chief Executive of Australian Water Polo.    “I am excited to join the Boat Race Company at this exciting and critical point and to be part of this world-class sporting event.  I am looking forward to being part of The Boat Race,” Joelie remarked.

Chris Price will be responsible for coordinating and managing the Boat Race 2021, related events, and partner relationships.  He brings a wealth of experience, most recently at The Great Run Company, where he was Event Director for several key events with many thousands of participants.   Previous roles include event planning and management at The British Triathlon Federation, and LSS UK for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.   “The Boat Race is such an iconic event, so I am delighted to be part of it and to be so actively involved in making it happen.  I am very much looking forward to this new role and to delivering an outstanding event for everyone involved,” said Chris.

Robert Gillespie, Chair of the Boat Race Company commented: “I would like to welcome Joelie and Chris to the Boat Race Company and thank Fergus for his contribution to The Boat Race and BRCL. Fergus restarted the rowing programme at Great Marlow School twelve years ago and has built it up to be one of the largest and most successful programmes within the state school sector. He has now embarked on fund raising to build a boathouse for the school.  We wish both Fergus and Great Marlow School BC every success in this important endeavour.”
