Boston Inspiration at Dawn

The COVID-19 crisis may have forced the cancellation of the spring rowing season all over the world, but the rivers and lakes are still there, and the athletes are still training.
On a normal spring morning, the Charles River would be packed with crews and coaching launches filling the basin around the Mass Ave Bridge with boats. For the most part, the river was empty when the sky lit up at dawn, but a handful of singles sculler who found a way to launch a single Tuesday morning were out demonstrating just how beautiful a row at sunrise can be.
Here a few photos shot this morning along the Charles – and take heart of the message painted on the Rail Road Bridge just below the Boston University DeWolf Boathouse and the traditional start line of the Head of the Charles Regatta.
