Genius dad rigged a rowing machine to power his kids’ video games if they exercised
Every parent needs to see this.
Jeremy Fielding is a YouTuber who focuses on making things out of salvaged parts, and his new invention is pretty genius.
Instead of telling his kids to stop playing games, he came up with a workaround. Their console is only powered by a generator made out of a rowing machine, so they need to take turns playing while someone is exercising to ensure they can keep going.
Fielding mentions in the video that he intentionally put a small capacity on the battery in the generator, so it would turn off after less than a minute of inactivity. The idea is that there always needs to be a trade-off between playing games and being active.
It’s a genius solution to a common problem, and also teaches the kids how to work together and compromise. This should be in every home in America.
