Stourport Win for Jake

Royal Chester Rowing Club Junior Jake Freer-Smith missed out on an opportunity to race at his recent home Head race, The Chester Long Distance Sculls, due to illness. Now back to full fitness Jake, keen to get back into competition, travelled all the way to Stourport in Worcester to race over a 2.5km course on the Severn. Jake was the only Royals member to enter the Masters and Juniors Head race but the journey was worthwhile with Jake winning the J16 single scull pot beating his nearest opposition from Ross on Wye Rowing Club by nearly 20 seconds.
