Newsletter Week 16

This Week:
Wednesday Meeting: We will be meeting at 1pm in County Bar for lunch and a chat, before heading down to the wall for 2pm. If you require any gear, please request it on the Facebook group in advance, or come along to the meeting.
Weekend Away: 24th to 26th February. We'll be leaving for our trip to the Peak District this Friday. For anyone going on the trip, find the information on pick-up times, food and the kit list here

Things to look out for:
Pancake Social: Wednesday 1st March at 7:30pm, County Main. Come one, come all, to one very tasty evening. Pancakes and soft drinks included, PLEASE BRING £2! Bring your own booze. Anyone who wants to go into town afterwards is welcome to join some of the LUMC exec going. Please respond on the Facebook event in advance so we know numbers, or we cannot guarantee you will be fed.
Climb Kilimanjaro: Friday 3rd March. Just Play will be running an event at the sports centre, where a team of climbers will be attempting to climb the height of Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in a day. Those who participated in the Climb Everest event last year will remember the great atmosphere that day! For more information, and to book a climbing slot, please email Abby Pridmore (a.pridmore@lancaster.ac.uk).
Banff Mountain Film Festival: Tuesday 28th March at Lancaster Grand Theatre. Featuring a brand new collection of the most exhilarating mountain and adventure films on the planet, witness phenomenal landscapes, inspirational characters and a whole heap of adrenaline coming at you from the big screen! Celebrating the mountains and the great outdoors, the screenings have a real community feel – and there are fabulous prize giveaways too! A great social night out. The event starts at 19.30, with doors and the bar opening an hour before. There are discounts on tickets for groups of six and more. More information at http://www.banff-uk.com/
Upcoming Socials: We're looking at holding Quickdraw social, Adventure Time and an end-of term meal in the next few weeks; keep an eye on the Facebook group for more details closer to the time!

Happy climbing,
The Exec
