Newsletter Week 18

This Week:

Wednesday Meeting: We will be meeting at 1pm in County Bar for lunch and a chat, before heading down to the wall for 2pm. If you require any gear, please request it on the Facebook group in advance, or come along to the meeting.

Day Trip: As it's forecast to rain all weekend, there is no official club trip this week. However, a group of us are likely to go to Trowbarrow; it's £2.50 for an off-peak return with a railcard. Keep an eye out in the LUMC Facebook group for details.

Things to look out for:

Quickdraw Social: 7:30pm on Wednesday 15th March at Graduate bar. We'll be doing an on-campus bar crawl, with people joined at the waist by quickdraws. Everyone will be given a series of challenges designed to test you both physically and mentally, with a few drinks in between, throughout the night. Please bring your own harness if possible, as there are limited numbers of club harnesses available.

End-of-Term Meal: 7:30pm on Friday 17th March at The Borough. We have 25 spaces for our end-of-term meal; the sign-up fom is on the LUMC website, and the £5 deposit is due on the LUSU website. We'll be ordering from the Borough favourites menu, which is £22 for three courses and a glass of prosecco. Please arrive early, so that the meal can be served on time.

Banff Mountain Film Festival: 7:30pm on Tuesday 28th March at Lancaster Grand Theatre. Featuring a brand new collection of the most exhilarating mountain and adventure films on the planet, witness phenomenal landscapes, inspirational characters and a whole heap of adrenaline coming at you from the big screen! Celebrating the mountains and the great outdoors, the screenings have a real community feel – and there are fabulous prize giveaways too! A great social night out. The event starts at 19.30, with doors and the bar opening an hour before. There are discounts on tickets for groups of six and more. More information at http://www.banff-uk.com/

Adventure Time: 7:30pm on Wednesday 10th May at County bar. Keep an eye out closer to the time for details on the talks and films being shown!

Happy climbing,
The Exec
