Want More Climbing? You Can Now Listen to Stories on the Go.
If you’re like us, you have a dozen stories open in tabs you swear you’ll read later—right after you finish work, cook dinner, and hit the hangboard. Thanks to a new feature on Climbing, content is much easier to consume wherever you are. Listen to Climbing news, riveting features, and powerful stories while you train, boulder, or just walk the dog.
Available only to O+ members, the text-to-speech option under the headline of a story lets you catch up on our latest without gluing yourself to the screen. Note that not all stories have this feature—we are adding a listen option to news stories, narrative features, and essays. But the listen option will usually not be there for pieces like gear guides or lists.
Here’s how to start listening to stories
It’s pretty simple. Click the “listen” button in the top left corner of your chosen story to hear it. You’ll see the audio-play icon on both mobile and desktop versions of our site.
How to Become an O+ Member to Access the Feature
Not an O+ member?
Sign up for a subscription, which gives you full access to audio versions of articles so you can listen on-the-go, plus apps like Trailforks and Gaia GPS. A membership usually costs $7.49 per month, but if you sign up before January 31, you can save 26 percent on your membership with the code NEWYEARS26.
