Annual Dinner Meet
If there are any dietary requirements that you have not already informed us about, please let Sarah,
Saturday Activities; Climb at Kendal Wall co-ordinated by Tony Walker & Janet Ashworth or Walk with Wendy Dodds.
Climb: Suggest from 10am onwards at Kendal wall; it opens then but is often busy, so trying to arrive en masse is a bit of a nightmare so feel free to have a lie in!
Janet & Tony will aim to be in the bar at Castle Green from about 9 on Friday evening if anyone wants help coordinating lifts down there.
Walk: The start of the walk on 1/11 will be from Leven’s Bridge, on the A6, GR 497851, at 9.30am
Gently undulating terrain, highest point <100m elevation. Underfoot will depend on rainfall in the preceding days but not usually unduly muddy F/C is for gusty winds (up to 47mph) and light rain showers (50% possibility). Possibility of seeing deer and Bagot goats. There is a layby just to the north of the bridge which will take about 10-12 cars. If this is full, permission has been obtained to park in the Levens Hall car park where there is a cafe and bakery, only opening at 9.30, but would be worth a visit after the walk and we will finish by lunchtime. The 555 bus stops outside Levens Hall on the A6 and runs hourly from Kendal (or S from Lancaster) Remember that there is no time restriction for using bus passes at weekends for those who are lucky enough to have them The walk will be shorter than in the last 2 years, but extensions can be made for those wanting to stretch their legs for longer, but unfortunately some members need to be at Castle Green with plenty of time to spare before the AGM.
